DO WE REALLY GO STRAIGHT DOWNHILL?

The stock market is not "a thing," in and of itself. The "stock market" is a container word for all the public companies out there traded in exchanges. On a day when the market is tanking, some stocks are gaining. On a great day in the market, some stocks lose value. If you look at the market, the long-term trend may be downwards, but there are some companies bucking the trend. Year to year and month to month there are ups and downs.

A stock may stay in a trading range, with no big moves in the price for years. Then suddenly pop. Or drop.

Parkinson's is not "a thing," in and of itself. one thing. PD is a container word for all the symptoms we have from PD. When the market is going up, some stocks trend lower. When the market is tanking, some stocks don't buck the trend.
I use a simplified explanation of the Dow Jones Industrial Average as an analogy to the Hoehn & Yahr scale most MDS use to track the overall trend of our disease. They are not measuring each of the symptoms you have. They are taking a snapshot using these tests as a proxy for all the symptoms
of PD. the disease process. The overall trend may be down, year to year, month to month, and moment to moment, symptoms, like the 60 stocks that make up the DJIA, may come and go.

Tremor was a big problem for me early on. Rarely a problem now. My swallowing was a problem 4 months ago, but with speech therapy, it is now normal. Depression was a huge problem for me, Now it's not. Dystonia was small. problem. Now it's huge. Neurodegenerative," to me, sounds like we go straight downhill and we do not.
